Vestmark's Chief Technologist, Dennis L. Sheckler, among the first worldwide to earn the CIPM designation
Wakefield, MA - March 8, 2007 - Vestmark, the leading innovator in the managed accounts platform solutions market, today announced
that Dennis L. Sheckler, its Chief Technologist of Investment Systems, is among the first worldwide to earn the CIPM designation.
"The Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) program is a new certification program designed to test candidates'
mastery of a specialized curriculum in the areas of ethics, performance measurement, attribution, and evaluation, and application
of the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®). Those who pursue the CIPM designation will master best practices in calculating,
interpreting, and presenting investment performance figures," according to CFA Institute's website.
"Mr. Sheckler is a pioneer in the CIPM program and belongs to a select group of dedicated CIPM certificate holders whose mastery of
the curriculum has been measured against a single, uniform, global standard of excellence," says Jeffrey J. Diermeier, CFA. Mr. Diermeier
is the President and Chief Executive Officer of CFA Institute.
"Passing the CIPM Principles and Expert exams has been very educational and satisfying. Vestmark customers will benefit from the mastery
of best practices based upon a comprehensive, theoretically sound body of knowledge that the CIPM program requires," says Mr. Sheckler.
"In addition, being among the first few, worldwide, to earn the CIPM designation is very rewarding."
This distinction demonstrates Vestmark's commitment to maintaining thought-leadership in investment performance measurement and employing
practitioners who are independently recognized for their exceptional ethical standards and technical expertise.
Vestmark supports CFA Institute's programs to further define the profession.
The CIPM program notes that candidates earn the right to use the CIPM designation only after they sequentially pass two three-hour,
computer-based examinations (Principles and Expert), and become a member of the CIPM Association which itself requires meeting the
experience requirement of at least two years in performance-related positions and agreeing to comply with the CIPM Association Code
of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
